Nurse`s Corner

In keeping with our policy of informing you about actual and potential health issues, I want to provide you with some information on Influenza.  Influenza is a respiratory illness caused by a virus.  It is very contagious!  Symptoms include a high fever for 3-4 days, cough, headache, body aches, and sometimes nause/vomiting.  To prevent this illness, we encourage you to get the flu vaccine every year.  Please remember to Cover your mouth with your elbow when you cough or sneeze.  Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer.   Do not share drinks or food with anyone who is sick.  If infected, you should remain home at least 24 hours after your fever is gone.  Additional information can be found with your school nurse or doctors office.
